Functional Fitness combines gymnastics, olympic weight lifting and resistance training. The Functional Fitness methodology is a WOD (workout of the day). The WOD changes each day so you are able to heighten all fitness domains. Functional Fitness training is used within Firefighting, Military and Law Enforcement including FBI and CIA due to the emphasis of the WOD’s to challenge the body in many ways. The beauty of Functional Fitness is it’s for anyone no matter what age.
All WOD’s can be easily modified so each individual can workout within their own abilities and with times and scores for your own workouts you are able to challenge yourself to keep bettering those scores thus getting fitter and healthier. There is also a competitive side to Functional Fitness in local and international levels should you wish to get involved, which the owner of the gym, Lee, has in the past on both levels.
